Some of the page cleanups live...

Some of the page cleanups live... We are about 1/4 done with the 80 or so different pages being cleaned up. You might have seen some of them in groups and blogs. Some of the new ones will have a few more edits. The bigger ones being worked on now are Message Center, main page (community and open/close 3-tab panel), profile page (take poll) , hotlist/flirts, and friend network. There are three teams of developers so some work is being done in parallel. Will take about a month to complete this phase although the Message Center is the top priority. If you see a page that is really ugly, just post the url here... without the domain name (e.g., /blog/Andrew/). While I've marked up many pages so far, can always do more. |

On my home blog,I noticed time stamped added on where I commented on someone blog post and also when someone commented on my blog post. Notice the enclose on the home blog look look a bit different and the width on the those calender, who blog is it, visitor lists, who commented and where I commented was a bit wider but the left side is narrow down. That I had to change my html box frame narrower down to below 700 width or else it poke out over the right and hang out on to the background. I like the blog header now with the font look bigger and bold and stand out. The page number on the bottom is center instead of on the left. Can some thing be done for those that use solid dark color or bling as background on their home blog? Since using colors and bling are still allow on homeblog page. It use to be a white box under the page number that make the page visible and readable, but during the last time the site make some change on blog(maybe 2 year ago or longer now), the white box under the page number was gone and make it difficult to see the page for those of us that like to use dark solid color or bling for the background. I had mentioned this to Ryan who use to be community. But nothing was done on this. I posted this in the Live From AFF yesterday, and I'll post it here, too. I noticed changes to the blog, only one improvement, where the cell widths on the tables on the right column got fixed and looks cleaner. BUT, I don't like the page numbers showing up at the bottom since it makes it inefficient to look go to see new comments if the setting is set to show new comments first. Also, I should be seeing a new comment on the 1st page, but there was none, even tho it's listed as there is in the Recent comments section. [image] Oh, I do like that the header is at the top and easier to see.

Andrew replies on 3/10/2013 3:35 am: Yes, I see the issue with the pagination ... they changed the format type... it should be an easy fix (one line of code). I've put it on the markup queue. Also, I don't see bling in your background in your blog. Did you turn it off... or did the editors create a bug?

Andrew replies on 3/13/2013 6:16 am: I think you are seeing a slightly older version... the page should be adjusted now. Are you requesting pagination to be put at the top right again as before? I'm neutral on it ... can go either way. How hard would it be to have it both on top and bottom, so it can accommodate both settings?

What has just happened to my blog page.....all I see is my header block, and then page 1, 2 3, etc...with no recent posts showing beneath, unless I go to "Title View" and select each one indiviually. Is this going to be a permanent change? If so, it is the pits, and effectively useless!

Have ALL the functions now shut down? Mail doesn't load, mousing over profiles doesn't load photos or short summaries?

I don't know if this should be posted here. I have looked at both the Site Support and Community blogs and can't find any information on this issue. What is happening with the Magazine section and in particular the Advice Line? People are able to post questions but no one is able to respond to them. This has been happening for the past 48 hours that I am aware of. Thank you

 Bravo!! Danke schon. Thank you Andrew for getting the homeblog page numbering boxed so that those members using solid color or bling background able to see the page numbering. Sorry to see fixing this had caused the issue of homeblog posted blog topic all vanished making those blogger panicking where they blog gone to. Well, I see all my homeblog posting is back and showing and also problem with not able to click photos on album late this afternoon were also fixed.

I don't know if this should be posted here. I have looked at both the Site Support and Community blogs and can't find any information on this issue. What is happening with the Magazine section and in particular the Advice Line? People are able to post questions but no one is able to respond to them. This has been happening for the past 48 hours that I am aware of. Thank you I sent an email to site support explaining that no one could respond to ANY questions on the AL. They did send a generic response back wanting "details"..... ??????? Unfortunately the only "details" I can give is that ALL questions on the AL cannot be responded to. What kind of "details" do they need? Thanks ~ Luv ...

I just noticed my visitor list is missing from my blog. Is this permanent? Can you change it back, or at least leave it to the user discretion if they would like to see this. Personally, I liked that feature, alot. Wait ... maybe that's why A*F*F took it away! It was a feature that worked, and people liked it!

I'd like to hit a "like" button on all the people who are mentioning the disappearance of the recent visitors list from the blogs. That is a feature that I really like and want it to come back please.

Andrew replies on 3/12/2013 1:25 pm: Standard members could reply 5 years ago... don't know if changed So... if it DID change... what exactly would be the incentive for being able to send eMail to someone (BTW--an ability one must pay for)... if the "standard" receiver cannot respond to it? Might as well just stick to BLOGs. Cheaper than buying eMail privileges--which without such privileges, why would ANYONE use the site for... snaggin' snatch? Just askin'. Solar... OH... and... the missing "recent visitors" table on the main BLOG page... is CRAP! OH... and... your revised "text editor" is also CRAP!

"Watchers List" of people who are watching my Blog, how doI find it now? I noticed with the disaapearance of the "Recent Visitors" list, that I now apparently can not know who the people are who are watching my blog! Great stalker opportunity, by taking away this feature. "Old" blog page set-up used to have a page to next screen at the top of the page as well as the bottom, when comments exceeded the page total. Please bring this feature back. It is annoying to have to scroll to bottom, when you know by the number of comments already received, that you will end up having to page anyway.
