How oceans came to be

How oceans came to be
written March 15th, 2021

Tears fall
from eyes
wetting cheeks
running in rivulets
down bodies
drenching the earth
until it can hold no more
so the waters rise
becoming a salt water ocean
created from tears
that fell
from eyes.

Cry
Cry all you need
Cry all you want
Flood the world
It will still turn
Around and around
Your trouble will be
Wipe your years
Hold your head up
Be the person you want to be
Be proud of yourself
Be proud of things you've done
If you not done enough
Work on trying for better days.
Let your tears be tears of joy.

I like it. Interestingly enough I have been ruminating over a rain themed poem using tears from the sky. Great minds.

My name is MrWrong and I approved this comment

There are very few ideas that are original, probably none lol. I knew that as I wrote this. I still liked how it turned out. I know with the books I read, I love when something feels different, unique. Maybe it's the same with poems. It's how you tell the story. Always happy to see you MrW. Hugs!

This reminds me of both Native creation myths and the Blues song 'The Sky is Crying'. Who's to say that either are wrong? Maybe Elmore James knew more than we ever gave him credit for.
