I listen to a few podcasts and yesterday, during one of them, they were talking about sex education and how it differs. Which led me to think, hard, about the quality of my sexual education which was close to none. Dear lort, I think I learned more from my father's penthouse stories than I ever did from school or even one of my parents.

Sure, there was health class when I was in Jr High (like 8th grade, I believe), where we were taught about reproduction. (The reproduction song/scene from Grease 2 has just suddenly popped into my head. Now, I must share a link to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6honxJ2uzwo for those who don't know what I'm talking about. You're welcome trying to get that out of your head. ) But, we sure weren't taught about the physical act of sex.

My real education came from my first marriage, where I learned most of what I know now. Picture an eighteen year old Enigma with braces sucking cock on her wedding night based on some shit she read in Penthouse and you'll know how it all went. LOLOL.

That led me to wondering:

Did you get sex education? In school? Did your parents teach you? Friends? Siblings? Or, was it a learn as you go thing, as it was me?

Sex Ed? 🤔 hmmm..
Oh yeah... A buddy of mine who was ten (I was 9), had a deck of cards. Wow! We spent days and weeks examining them. 😎
And then there was my neighbour. She was a year older than me.
I was ten when we first played Doctor 😷.

Now THAT was fricken educational! 👍

No sex ed from parents at all. HS health covered basics of reproduction w diagrams of anatomy that were not explained. My education was slipshod and still incomplete.

No sex education.........I recall a female classmate asking if I had white stuff in my balls yet? I had no clue what she was talking about. About two weeks later, I had my first wet dream. A week later I masturbated and ejaculated for the first time. The mystery was over & I finally understood what she was talking about!

My sex education came from reading the stories and "How To's" in PlayBoy and Penthouse magazines, then practicing in the back seat of an old Chrysler!
My Dad did instill one thing in my brain, you knock a girl up and u squat to pee the rest of ur life....
So I concentrated on oral skills, that worked really out well!

Great post!

My parents taught me nothing, and since I was a total ugly duckling in high school, I had zero chance of going out on an actual date to learn anything, lol.

College exposed me to some wild roommates, but even they didn't share their knowledge with me.

I'm basically self-taught when it come to sex

As I recall there was some minimalistic formal education coverage, but my Parents did not engage me on the subject. My Father and uncles would drop us boys off (when we were about 12 years old or so) at one of those private trash dump sites in the woods under the premise the old guys were going squirrel hunting for an hour or so. Interestingly there were plenty of these ‘girlie’ / Gentlemen’s magazines laying around and we sort of educated ourselves while we waited for their return.

Now that I think back, I don’t think we ever heard any gun shots or saw any dead squirrels when they returned. Just a lot of empty beer bottles to add to the trash pile.

You are in my most inappropriate thoughts...

As a young lad I had a few neighborhood girls that liked to "Play Doctor" a time or two. So by age 7 I had seen a few naked girls; legs spread and close up. Junior High and High School I was the wall flower/nerd no one wanted anything to do with.
Basically just like you it was Penthouse and Playboy and the sex books my best friends dad had hid in his closet. Adam & Eve catalogue also helped with an oral sex VCR tap.

Other than that it has been trial and error.

So nice to be insane; no one asks you to explain.

I learned at a young age by reading the Joy of Sex and from Playboy magazines. I had to sneak them out of my parents bedroom though.

Funny women are incredibly sexy!

Ordered sex manuals by mail, that and porn. We had a kinda sex ed in high school which consisted of warning the girls about boys.

Please don't let me be misunderstood.

I believe even the sex educators are still learning. Learning from experience is the preferred method, anyway.

I vaguely remember some sort of sex ed in middle school...I think they used bananas and condoms...but by then it was old hat for me. Little backstory on me for anyone reading this...my parents were total hippies...dad was a folk rock musician, mom made all our clothes. I don't remember this but my mother told this story to me. We lived down the street from a commune and one time when I was about 5 I came home for lunch.
"Did you have a good time", mom asked.
"it was pretty good. I learned a new game today"
"Oh what game is that" she replied
"Its called Fuck", I said
Mom got a strange look on her face "Oh really? and how is played"
I commenced to tell her about how the game was played. She didn't get upset or punish me even for dropping the f bomb but I don't think I was allowed to go down to that house anymore after that.

After reading over most of the comments, it does seem like "playing doctor" of some sort is one of the highest on the list. Go figure.

I went "hunting" with an ex boyfriend and his friends once, never heard a gunshot the entire time I was with them. They seemed to do a lot of running their mouths and drinking, and not a whole lot of hunting. Seems like a theme here....

I'm trying to remember if they warned us about boys in school in a formal way, but I can't. It's sad that was the state of sexual education, though.

I don't know why I thought that the UK would have had it in school; I suppose I just see you as more progressive than we are here in the states.
